Sneha's Days

Just thought I'd put a few words out about the daily antics of my 2-year old.

I like to play with Papa - Papa i love you

"PaPa I Love you
WHEN you Play
With Me
I Like To Play
With You
This is for
My Papa"

Today, Sneha handed this declaration to me.
We had spent about 20 minutes in a silly game of
"chasing a giant red flower".

Saachi was running in her own little circles, giggling and laughing and screaming.
Sneha was running from the flower.
I was driving the flower; that is, running after Sneha with the flower in my hand.

These days, the apartment below us is empty, so we can actually run.

Imaginary Friend???

Sneha has now found an imaginary friend, and calls him/her Ninihans! Of all names!! First, we were scared, but now, we're more amused and a bit irritated. The seriousness with which she talks to Ninihans makes us smile. The way she blames Ninihans for the spilled glass, for the marks on the walls, irritates us to no end.

The Li'l Photographer

Sneha, all of 3 years, found my first camera a few days ago. It is a hotshot camera, which cost about 400 rupees about 10 years ago. I let her play with it, as she was aiming and clicking almost correctly. I added a battery to the camera, so the flash also started working, and she got really serious about it.

She'd now ask people to pose, correct their postures if she found it unsatisfactory, and click away. She even learnt to do the manual winding before each click.

So, I have actually added a roll to the camera. She has taken about 10 pictures so far. Let's see how they come out :-)

Spoke her name for the first time today!!

Well, she spent a lot of time saying her own name, and as a bonus, did this:
When her mother went to the restroom, she started on a continuous chant of, "Shalu, Shalu!!".

Shalu, of course, is my wife - Sneha's mom.

In my shoes

Sneha loves walking around in my shoes, or her mom's sandals.
Often losing her balance, she falls and cries, but picks herself up, dons the big shoes again, and walks on.

What's in a "Chata"?

Well, "Chata" is hindi for umbrella.
And Sneha chose it as her word of the day today.

We kept hearing "Chata" while she was busy playing with her doll (Dipsy), or pouring water on herself (when we forgot to lock the bathroom).

When Shalu chided her for being naughty, Sneha replied nonchalantly, "Chata".

At 11:00 PM, half-asleep, she was still muttering, "Chata"!!
